Who We Are
Golden Connections was founded in October 2023 by Lauren and Sangam during our time at The College of New Jersey. Our journey began with a shared experience: witnessing our parents struggle to balance their own lives while caring for aging loved ones—while still supporting us from afar.
While away at college, we saw firsthand the demands on our parents. They juggled careers, supported our needs, and managed the well-being of our grandparents, who often called for help with medication reminders, errands, and even simple questions. We admired their dedication but also saw the toll it took, and we knew there had to be a way to offer them more support and relief.
Our passion for caregiving and our pride in TCNJ led us to enter the Mayo Business Plan Competition, each of us bringing unique skills to the team. Lauren, a Marketing major, and Sangam, a Biology major, combined our strengths to create a meaningful solution for the people we care about most.
From this vision, Golden Connections was created—earning first place in the competition and proving the need for such a solution. Now, our mission is clear: to give caregivers the time, support, and peace of mind they need and deserve. Golden Connections provides a platform to help manage the many caregiving responsibilities our parents handle every day. It’s our way of saying “thank you” and giving back to those who have always been there for us.
